Home Preservation Program

Good morning, NECKO - Hope everyone is navigating the health crisis and staying well!  See the message from Susan Keeny below on working with older houses during this time.

I hope you are well and safe during this difficult time.  We know it's important to stay-in-place, but we still wanted to communicate with area homeowners, safely.

While the Columbus Landmarks Home Preservation Program won't be able to make site visits or conduct workshops, we wanted to share some things that homeowners can do to continue to care for the places in which they live.  Now more than ever it is important to maintain safe, healthy homes.

There are also some fun activities for any younger Italian Village residents.  Please feel free to share with your community.

Stay safe!

Time For DIY Visual Home Inspection
Make the most of your time at home by conducting this straightforward visual inspection of your property. Susan Keeny, our Home Preservation Program Director, recommends this annual exercise to identify critical areas to watch and those to resolve. Once complete, if you want to troubleshoot your findings or if you need names of experienced contractors to help with maintenance issues,  call/email Susan at 614-221-4508 or skeeny@columbuslandmarks.org. ►VISUAL HOME INSPECTION TOOL
And don't forget - our Home Preservation Program is a super helpful, free resource for owners of homes 50-years-old and older!

... And One For The Kids!
We know it isn't easy to have kids home all day every day during the COVID-19 crisis. Keep them busy with this home inspection activity that will not only kill a little time (!) but may heighten their understanding of and appreciation for seemingly small things that make home, sweet home.
